1. What was the first movie you saw in the cinema and what do you remember about that visit?
- The first film that I ever saw in the theaters that made an impact on my fragile little mind was Gremlins. Spike became a regular part of my nightmares as a five-year old. Oh, and this was the beginning of my obsession with movie junk (toys, shirts, etc.).
2. Are there any movies that you have strong memories of which are not because of the movie?
- Disturbing Behavior. We used to have this old theater in Kona that was upstairs above a restaurant. This place was a real dump. At some point, they added a second screen in a room that likely was used for storage prior. Honestly, "Theater 2" probably had twenty seats. Anyway, the night we saw Disturbing Behavior, there wasn't an empty seat, and everybody there was likely under the age of 18. We might as well have been at someone's house, the theater was perfectly chaotic. Though, to be fair, that could have been the karaoke coming from below. Hawaiians love them some karaoke.
3. Which movies had a big impact on you and changed a (small) part of your view on life?
- Jerry Maguire. I was 17 at the time and for whatever reason, this movie meant a lot to me. When Renee Zellweger's Dorothy Boys says, 'I just want to be inspired'? Shit. I couldn't have agreed more at that point in my life. Or now.
4. Do you have any comfort movies which you return to because you are in a specific mood?
- For me, any movie is a comfort movie, really. But, I could watch The Cable Guy or Beerfest any day of the week. Same goes for The Big Lebowski.
5. If a movie would be made about your life, what type of movie would it be and who would you like to portray you?
- It would be like Trainspotting, minus all the drinking, fighting and drugs. Just a couple of smalltown assholes trying to figure out life. [clearly I have no answer for this question] Playing me? How about Jason Biggs? He's my age and kind of a dick. Nah, screw that guy. Let's go Paul Rudd. He rules.
6. Which existing movie best represents you?
- Oldboy. Pretty much my life story, verbatim. Seriously though, how about The Royal Tenenbaums. A giant, messed-up family trying to make the best of it, while constantly dwelling on all the bad stuff in their past? That sounds about right.
7. If you knew you would die tomorrow, what would be the last movie you would want to see?
- Something with my kids.
- Based on the titles alone, it's a tie between gaffer and best boy. I don't even know what they do, and I could easily look it up, but my personal (and private) definitions will do. Otherwise, I would love to write something. Something good, anyway.

1. Did you ever have a first kiss with someone while at the cinema (and if so, which movie was playing)?
- No. No first kisses. But things got out of control at Scooby-Doo. If only I was kidding...
2. What is your favorite movie relationship and why?
- It's not very touchy-feely, but Marla and Jack (and/or Tyler) in Fight Club is easily my favorite. Despite each person having some serious f--king issues to say the least, they still ultimately connect in a very honest way. Second place? Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl.
3. When did your love for movies start and how has it grown?
- College. I'd taken film classes in high school, but in college shit got real. That's when my focus shifted from who was in front of the camera, to who was behind it.
- Something that would make her laugh. A lot. She's way too stressed out lately. Maybe, This is the End [review].
5. If you can choose one character from a movie to be your significant other, who would it be and why?
- Movie wife? Sloane Peterson. Do you have a kiss for Daddy? If not her, I'm going with Diane Lane in Unfaithful, even if it's not going to end well. Oh, and I'm taking a mistress, too. Christina Hendricks. Um, from anything.
6. What was the first movie that made you fall in love with film and cinema?
- The first movie that I absolutely loved (and became obsessed with) was Tim Burton's Batman. If I can add a film that just floored me with an experience that made me truly appreciate cinema, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon would be it.
7. How did your passion for movies turn you into a movie blogger?
- I try to steer every conversation, even with strangers, toward movies (often with mixed results). The blog guarantees success. Even if I'm talking to myself (often with mixed results).
8. What is your favorite movie date from a movie?- For me? Scooby-Doo. See, we were alone in the - Oh, you mean date in a movie? I think Walter's first date with Allegra Cole in Hitch is quietly hysterical (or 'disgusting'), but John Favreau dancing with Heather Graham in Swingers is just about perfect. That's my hog, right there. But...how about pre-date? Edward Bloom in Big Fish doing just about everything for Sandra is the pinnacle of movie relationships. It's so damn chivalrous. The scene where he takes a beating is my personal favorite, as that ends up to be one of the smoothest moves ever put to film.
